Yesterday, Brian received his orders for Wichita Falls, TX! He is to leave Arizona on the Sept. 27th and arrive no later than 2400 Sept. 29th to Sheppard AFB. We could not be more excited that everything turned out so well! While this only gives us two weeks notice, we are ready. Our time of waiting for the unknown is finally over. When we came to Arizona a week ago, we left most of our belongings in boxes because we wouldn't need them until we set up our house in Texas. Therefore, most of our stuff is ready. However, with my sister's wedding coming up on Oct. 3, we had to figure out more logistics... Here's what we decided: Brian will take the Blazer over to Texas and I will wait until after the wedding to join him. I wish I could travel with him but it doesn't really make sense for me to go when I would just have to fly back as soon as we get there. Unfortunately, we are not sure if Brian will be able to make the wedding but we are still very thankful for this September date! It looks like we will be put in temporary housing until a house opens up for us to move into. And the AF is planning to pick up all of our moving truck stuff around Oct. 19 and then move it to Texas. Which is fine because we really won't need our stuff until we have our house. So that's the plan!
Grammy decided we all needed to go to Texas Roadhouse last night to celebrate our news! Steak, rolls, and sweet potatoes.... yum! I'm pleased we got Texas as Brian's first assignment.
Hey Kari, I found your blog! That's such exciting news! Little fun fact, while Jack and I were at Fort Sill, OK - Wichita Falls had the closest Target haha. So we'd travel there occasionally to buy stuff! All the best on your move!
