Spring Break is Here.

Spring Break is here and I'm enjoying it tremendously!  To start it off, Mom and Jodi both made the 5 1/2 hour drive over from Arizona to visit Brian and I. It was so fun to have them here! (They just left today).  We ate a leisure breakfast on Saturday morning, followed by some much needed time in the sun for me!  Then, Brian I headed off to a dinner while Mom and Jodi went over to Downtown Disney.  On Sunday, we attended church, took a drive to show them my school and the community I work in, then we drove to Huntington Beach for shopping and dinner at Ruby's on the pier.  It was a very windy and cloudy day at the beach, but we still enjoyed the evening.  We returned for some hang out time and a movie.  This morning before they left, we went to our favorite little crepe place in Brea for some delicious crepes and atmosphere. Nonetheless, the weekend went by too quickly and I'm excited to drive to Arizona this Thursday to spend Easter with my family.

Evenings... when I'm lucky!

On evenings when I'm lucky and manage to turn on my computer to check out emails, get caught up on facebook, and blogs, I might manage to even post something!  This evening is a lucky occasion and I will take it as a blessing.  I returned home from work today around 5:45pm, enjoyed an easy dinner with my husband and find a chance to sneak a peak at the week as it goes by in the online world.  I love the beauty of lives through the words of a blog. You might even say I'm slightly addicted to the blogging world... but can I help it that there are so many blogs out there?  And I love keeping up on other's lives. It is like sitting down with a good book with lots of pictures! When I was engaged it was all about the wedding blogs, now I love the decor blogs, creative inspiration blogs, food blogs, and friend blogs.  Love it!

And I'm looking forward to this weekend!!! The beginning of Spring Break and Mom and Jodi are coming to visit!  I could not be more excited! (That is, unless more of my family came!) And the weekend following, Brian and I are driving to Arizona to spend Easter weekend with the family.  Egg decorating here we come!  Until then, I have a few Easter activities for my kiddos at school.  We made baskets today, egg notes tomorrow, and an Easter egg hunt on Friday.  They are stoked! I love their excitement!

Ha, I just realized a have many 'excited exclamation sentences' as my first graders would call them.  Guess its true.

{New Additions}

As I mentioned in my previous post, Brian went on a trip back to Washington last weekend.  He flew there so that he could bring a small moving truck back with his things and a few extra additions... He brought back a cozy, comfy recliner from my dad.

He also brought back a bedroom set for us that we were given.  It is an older set, but the wood fits all of our other stuff.  I just have to figure out how to decorate it all to make it look modern.  I cannot wait.  I'm hoping my mom will come visit soon to help me!

It is so nice to finally feel like our bedroom is full and everything has a place.  We love having all the drawer space because that was one thing we have been lacking.  We have a TV in the corner... ha.  We're still trying to figure out where that should go.  We have a bigger one in our livingroom so this is the spare.

Oh and outside we also have a few additions that we have added since I first posted pictures of our place.  A new BBQ for Brian!

And a table for outside with a little rosebush I received from one of my students.

Brian found this table on Craig's List and I'm just in love with it! It is pretty heavy, but the perfect size for our porch.

And that completes the tour of our new additions.  Today, I'm just relaxing, doing laundry, cleaning the apartment, listening to music, sipping hot cider, and hoping it will get warmer outside so I could possible lay in the sun and soak in a few rays.  I'm in desperate need of a tan.  Thankfully my Spring Break is just one week away!!! I'm looking forward to it.  The one amazing perk of being a teacher: all the time you get off for holidays, vacations, and the whole summer.  Love it!

A simple nice and quiet day...

Today is a quiet day, the clouds are covering the sky but thankfully no rain.  I'm enjoying the noise of water right outside our sliding glass doors from the fountains and creek.  I brought home a lot of school work but have yet to convince myself to get it started.  I need to lesson plan, grade theme tests, complete some modules in my technology course I'm taking through the district, create SMART goals from Language Arts and Math, and grade end of the trimester spelling tests.  But right now, I'm content to just enjoy myself. I plan to listen to music, make myself a nice cup of apple cider, and maybe even throw on a movie.  I should go work out, but my motivation in that area is lacking...

I talked to Brian this morning (he is packing stuff up in Washington to move down here).  I'm thankful we are only a cell phone call away when he is gone.  Our families gave us a bedset, drawers, bikes, a comfy recliner, lamps, and Brian is bringing the rest of his stuff down that he had left in Washington during college.  We should have a full house then or full apartment :) We have been blessed with so many things!  However, I'm getting the feeling we are going to need an office for Brian which we can decorate in American flags, eagles, motorcycles, and cars... it could be really fun!  Unfortunately, until we get our house, it will all reside in our living room.  Oh well.  Can't have perfect decor, but wouldn't that be wonderful!

It is exciting to think about the future but also nerve racking.  We have been talking a lot about our plans for next year without really knowing all of the details.  And we have tentatively made a few decisions.  Ultimately, God is the only one who knows what will happen.  I'm praying hard for wisdom and direction and confidence.
